I was raised in Carroll County near Galax Virginia (about 100 miles Southwest of Roanoke, Virginia). Our home did not have a bathroom or running water and I attended a one-room grade school without a bathroom or running water. Needless to say, I have a real appreciation of the "finer" amenities in today's homes.
My father was an iron ore miner and my mother was a housewife. My parents, born in 1923 and 1924, still live in my Mother's home place where she grew up. They had 10 and 8 siblings respectively, so the yearly family reunions are something I have always enjoyed. BUT, that crowd is getting younger every year!
I have a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree from Radford University. My degrees say, "Women's Division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute" (i.e. "Older than DIRT!") I taught Math prior to moving to the Hampton Roads area in 1979.
I have two loving adult children, Lisa Arguello and Michael Clay.
Lisa, the oldest, is an Audiologist at Bowman Gray Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She and her husband, Francisco, have two "wonderful" teens, Sarah and Julio.
Michael, my son, lives in Blacksburg, Virginia and he owns a computer consulting business called Clay Solutions. His wife, Debbie, is a loan processor with Freedom Financial.
My brother, Gary, owns Gary's Backhoe Service in Hillsville, Virginia and he runs the business with sticky notes, calculators, legal pads and file cabinets--NO computer!
I love racquetball (even though the old gray mare ain't what she used to be!), crossword puzzles (I know--BORING!), card games (yes--boring, again), and interesting conversations with friends (NOT boring!).
I moved to Hampton Roads in 1979 (when it was called "Tidewater") and I have been a realty executive in this area since that date.
Whatever your real estate needs--buying real estate, selling real estate, tax free exchanges, or property management--I assure you that your worries, concerns, emotions, and investment will be "Handled with CARE!"
--as though you are family!
